Private Forestry Summit

In the summer of 2006, leadership from the Wisconsin Woodland Owners Association and the Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry began discussions concerning the state of private forestry in Wisconsin. Learning from outcomes that came out of the 2004 Governor’s Conference on Forestry, it was decided the two groups would pursue a Private Forestry Summit with a goal of increasing the amount of private forest land in Wisconsin that is under sustainable management.
The summit would bring together the range of interests committed to private forestry and evaluate the opportunities to increase the amount of land and those engaged in responsible forest management.
